My Story
My Story so far
My name is William Seal, I’m 20 years old, and I currently work in the family business as a motor mechanic. I'm a proud Australian with British, Maltese, and Aboriginal heritage, based in Penrith, NSW.
Motorsport has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up at racetracks, watching my father compete and learning the ropes from an early age.
I began karting in 2011, quickly showing a natural talent behind the wheel. I dominated the local scene and soon progressed to state-level competition. In 2016, I won my first State Championship, which opened the door to national-level racing.
In 2018, we committed to the Rotax Pro Tour, a category known for its “even equipment, driver-focused” format. It suited us perfectly. On debut, I won the JMax NSW State Title and finished runner-up in the National Championship. This earned me a ticket to represent Australia at the Rotax World Grand Finals, where I qualified on the front row against 72 of the world’s best drivers.
The following year, 2019, I won the Australian Rotax Championship and the KA3 NSW State Title. I also placed 3rd in the Australian KA2 Championship, despite missing the opening round.
In 2020, I competed in the 4SKA 4-Stroke Endurance Karting Championship. We won the State Title Round in our debut season and finished 3rd overall, again despite missing the first round. I led the most laps by over 500 and was nominated for "Best Driver of the Year."
In 2021, I began transitioning from karts to cars. My father and I converted a Hyundai Excel into a race car for the 2022 season. I finished 2nd in the NSW Series, 6th in the Victorian Series, and 4th at the Excel Nationals.
In 2023, I stepped up to race at iconic circuits like Mount Panorama. Despite qualifying 12th, I fought through challenging conditions to finish 4th, an unforgettable moment in my racing journey.
In 2024, I stepped up to the TGRA GR Cup, tackling iconic circuits like Bathurst and the Gold Coast. In my debut season, I was honoured to be nominated for the Kaizen Award for Most Improved Driver.
Motorsport has been my passion since day one, and every day, I’m driven to improve, be the best, and leave my mark on the sport. I’m not just chasing trophies, I’m chasing greatness.
Vision
To become a world-class racing driver by relentlessly pushing my limits, inspiring others through my journey, and proving that with passion, grit, and obsession, anything is possible, no matter where you start.
Training
I train five days a week with Focus Driver Performance under the guidance of professional trainer Andrew Berridge, ensuring I’m physically and mentally prepared to perform at the highest level. Every session is another step toward becoming the most complete driver I can be.
